My very good friend Lee Allen Wells drew this picture inspired by Fall Line, my forthcoming novel due out from NewSouth Books in spring 2011. The dog's name is Percy, the 1950 Chevrolet pickup belongs to Elmer Blizzard, and the background shows the Lake Terrell Dam, poised to block the Oogasula River. All are fictional, set in Georgia, 1955. (You can click on the image to enlarge it.) Lee, a native of Jefferson, Georgia, now living in Raleigh, N.C., and I met seven years ago in, of all places, New Jersey.
